About Iris Claire
Hi, I’m Iris Claire, and I’m the person behind The Decor Guide. I’m always saving decor ideas, rearranging rooms, and thinking about how I would style the next space I live in.
I’ve always been a little obsessed with making a space feel good, even when the space itself isn’t perfect. A rental bathroom, a tiny kitchen, an empty entryway, a bedroom with awkward lighting — those are often the rooms I find the most interesting because they leave more room to get creative.
I started The Decor Guide as a place to collect the ideas I’m constantly saving anyway. But I wanted it to be about more than perfect Pinterest rooms. I’m interested in the details that actually make sense in a real home: a pretty tray, useful baskets, a small lamp, artwork above a coffee station, or a simple way to make everyday storage look less messy.
My Latest Videos
I share videos and visual ideas that bring decorating inspiration to life, from simple styling ideas to seasonal inspiration and practical ways to make a room feel more inviting.
A Little Note on How I Decorate
I don’t think a home has to be completely finished to be beautiful.
In fact, I think homes often feel better when they are slowly collected, changed, and rearranged over time. The little things can make the biggest difference — fresh flowers on the bench, a better lamp beside the bed, a basket for the things that normally end up everywhere, a framed print, a cozy throw, or a few seasonal touches.
I’m especially drawn to cozy, layered spaces with warm textures, vintage details, soft colours, and practical little touches.
I love a beautiful room, but I also want to know where the shoes go, how the kitchen counter stays clear, and whether an idea would actually work on an ordinary weekday.
Why I Make These Guides
When I’m looking for decor inspiration, I don’t just want someone to tell me that a room looks beautiful. I want to know what makes it work.
Is it the wreath on the door? The tray on the coffee bar? The way the shelves have been arranged? The little vase of flowers? The hooks near the entryway?
Those are the details I try to notice and pull out in each guide.
A lot of decorating advice can feel like it was created for people with huge homes, huge budgets, and unlimited storage. I wanted The Decor Guide to feel more like saving ideas with a friend who is also asking:
“Okay, but how would this actually work in a real home?”
What You’ll Find Here
The Decor Guide is a collection of home decor inspiration, apartment ideas, small-space storage solutions, seasonal decorating, holiday tables, porch ideas, bathroom inspiration, bedroom ideas, living room styling, and all the little decorating details I keep coming back to.
Most of the content is visual because that’s how I naturally plan and find inspiration. I like seeing an idea first and then figuring out the one detail that makes it work.
If an image changes or I notice that a description no longer matches what is shown, I update it. I’d much rather correct something than leave information that doesn’t accurately reflect the idea.
Corrections and Contact
Accuracy matters to me. If you notice a description that doesn’t match an image, a source that needs updating, or a detail that should be corrected, I genuinely want to hear about it.
For questions, corrections, or partnership enquiries, you can email thedecore@gmail.com or visit the Contact page.

Thanks for being here and spending a little time with The Decor Guide. I hope you find an idea or two that makes your own space feel a little more like home.
