Accessibility

Last updated: 4 November 2026.

Everyone should be able to enjoy home decor inspiration. The Decor Guide (decorideasguide.com) is committed to making our website accessible to all readers, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet recognised accessibility standards and to keep improving the experience for everyone.

Our Commitment

We believe beautiful homes — and beautiful websites — should be for everyone. We design and write our content with accessibility in mind, and we welcome feedback that helps us do better. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix, and we review our site regularly.

Measures We Take to Support Accessibility

To make The Decor Guide as accessible as possible, we:

  • Add descriptive alt text to images so screen reader users can understand our decor photography and illustrations;
  • Use clear, readable fonts — EB Garamond for headings and Nunito Sans for body text — at comfortable sizes with good colour contrast;
  • Structure content with proper headings (one H1 per page, logical H2 sections) so assistive technologies can navigate easily;
  • Write descriptive link text so it is clear where a link goes without needing the surrounding context;
  • Support keyboard navigation, so the site can be used without a mouse;
  • Avoid content that flashes or autoplays in ways that could cause discomfort;
  • Keep layouts simple and consistent across the site so pages are predictable and easy to follow.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Some older images may have incomplete or missing alt text — we are working through our archive to fix this;
  • Embedded third-party content (such as videos or social media posts) may not meet the same accessibility standards;
  • Some purely decorative images are intentionally given empty alt text so screen readers skip them.

We are working to address these limitations and appreciate your patience.

Third-Party Content

Some pages include content from third parties — for example, embedded videos, social media feeds, or affiliate retailer widgets. We cannot always control the accessibility of this content, but we choose providers carefully and will remove or replace embeds that cause significant barriers where we can.

Feedback and Contact

Your experience matters to us. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on The Decor Guide — or if you have suggestions for how we can improve — please let us know at info@decorideasguide.com. Please describe the issue and, if possible, the page where you found it and the assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback promptly and to fix verified issues as quickly as we can.

Our Ongoing Effort

Accessibility standards and best practices evolve, and so do we. We periodically review the site against guidelines such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), test with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers where possible, and update our content and templates accordingly. Thank you for helping us make The Decor Guide welcoming for everyone.
